Background

Mr. Baum is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Aetos. Mr. Baum also serves as a Senior Advisor for Abra, a digital asset wealth management and trading firm. Prior to joining Aetos in 2024, Mr. Baum served as Advisor and Acting Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at Pacific Road Capital Management. Until 2020, Mr. Baum was a Senior Managing Director, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Administrative Officer at Serengeti Asset Management, a NY-based hedge fund. Before his time at Serengeti, Mr. Baum was the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at several financial services firms, including Ramius LLC and the Seaport Group. Mr. Baum began his career at the law firm of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and served in legal and compliance roles at financial services organizations including Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and TD Securities.

Education

Mr. Baum graduated from Harvard College magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and History. He also earned a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Juris Doctor from University of Chicago Law School.
